Xcaret - Day of the Dead

Xcaret - Day of the Dead

Riviera Maya, Mexico (September, 2010) – In celebration of Mexico’s Day of the Dead (October 31st – November 2nd), Grand Velas Riviera Maya features a Day of the Dead, or Dia de Los Muertos (in Spanish), package that includes admission to the popular Xcaret Natural Park traditional Day of the Dead festivities.

Meant to honor the lives of deceased loved ones, Day of the Dead is one of Mexico’s most important traditions dating back to the Aztecs and Mayans. To mark this occasion, Xcaret Natural Park offers a snapshot of Mexican culture with traditional cuisine, a plethora of authentic altars, art and photography exhibitions and musical and theatre performances. A highlight of Xcaret’s holiday offerings is the Dia de Los Muertos en Tabasco theatre and dance show which features the National Folkloric Ballet of Mexico recreating the ancient burial customs of the state of Tabasco. Along with transportation and admission to the park, the package also includes a buffet lunch at Xcaret, 10% off water activities and full snorkel equipment at no extra cost.

The Day of the Dead Package also includes spacious, luxury suite accommodations, a la carte dining at a choice of five gourmet restaurants, premium branded beverages, 24-hr in-suite service, access to the resort’s fitness center with personal trainer, activities for adults and kids, roundtrip airport transfers, taxes, gratuities, and more at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. Rates start at $371 per person per night based on double occupancy from October 28 to November 3rd, with a minimum stay of 3 nights.
