Marina Maroma Snorkeling is the Best!

by Sam

Marina Maroma had the best snorkeling that my family found while we were staying in Playa del Carmen. We were told that much of the snorkeling was the same in terms of the beauty of the seascape, so we didn't really concern ourselves so much with the best views. So we went out, bought some waterproof cameras to take some photos, dropped the kids off at a fun house (that'll be for another review), and my wife and I went ahead to the bay, and out to see on their pleasant little boat. Along with the other people there, we had a very good time, both with the guide, and with the route that we were taken on. Out at see, you could really appreciate the beauty and serenity of this place where the college students of Cancun haven't yet discovered. The water was crystal clear and pure, and the sun was intense and warm. Just when we were all starting to get a little too warm, we stopped at the snorkeling location and we were given the basic training for exploring the depths. We were told to be careful around sea urchins, etc. And finally, we were given free reign of the ocean! The guide was very helpful in trying to keep everyone accounted for, but didn't try to restrict our movement. I know she really worked for her money that day, because I can't ever remember being told to not wander too far. I wander as far as I dared, and I stayed places as long as I want. The marine life there was absolutely delightful, and the colors were vibrant and exciting. Definitely a good deal.
